Dear Ned and Megan, it's Sunday morning and Nick's turn to amuse the children (it was my turn yesterday). As usual he lucked out and they slept 'til nine so he's pretty pleased with himself and I've brought a coffee into my office (how did I ever live without a stovetop espresso machine?) and am having some quiet time catching up on e-mail etc and watching these great clips. I'm not especially fond of weddings in general (though I enjoyed my own!) but some of these look like a hoot.

I loved the stamps and even more now that I know the story behind them. I'm really looking forward to seeing the rings - I might have to look up the designer next time I'm in Christchurch. I e-mailed Jenny Pattrick recently to see if she would make me some paua earrings but she is too busy writing books now (and I suspect that the arthritis has worsened) and doesn't make jewellery anymore, so I'm on the lookout for a new designer.

I'm afraid that I now have to get to the sad part - as much as I'm not generally keen on weddings, I find I'm desperate to come to yours and I'm afraid I won't be. I have been feeling really torn but the decision was made for me when I came home after working late (again) and Katie greeted me with a rapturous but surprised: "Mummy, what are you doing here?!". I said "I live here" and she just said "No!" in a totally disbelieving tone. So I need to sort out my work-life balance and I won't be making any round the world trips for while.

I hope you have a wonderful day - I know you'll have a wonderful marriage.

Love and very best wishes to you both,

Jessamine, Nick, Jack, Dash and Katie.
